Perry Industries Inc. works on Economic Development

Perry Industries Inc. is the local economic development organization for the Perry community. It encourages and promotes the economic development in the Perry Community and continues its efforts to make Perry a good place to live, work and raise a family. The Board of Directors hold bi-monthly meetings and the Directors provide representatives for various community and civic committees and groups. The Directors are all members of the Perry Community and work hard to promote economic development in Perry.

Summary of recent projects:
  1. Spearheaded and organized the joint community effort to bring a major, high-tech industry to Perry, namely Percival Scientific. This industry brought over seventy, good-paying jobs to the Perry area.
  2. Completed the platting, construction and opening of the Perry Commercial Park located on the north side of Highway 141 at the eastern entrance to Perry.
  3. Organized efforts to create and construct the Welcome to Perry permanent sign with three flag poles and lights.
  4. Provided support to Phase I of Perry Downtown Revitalization involving Second and Railroad Streets projects.
  5. Constructed two thirty thousand square foot building pads in the Perry Industrial Park.
  6. Completed installation of street lights in the Perry Commercial Park.
  7. Worked with the Perry Farm Credit business to keep it and its people here in Perry and helped relocate it to its new flagship office in the Perry Commercial Park.
  8. Planned and built a second 30,000 square ft. spec building in the Perry Business (Industrial) Park and ITC purchased the property in early 2008.
  9. Directors represented Perry at various economic development seminars including the Iowa Community Symposium, Ag Policy Summit, Smart Development Seminar, and several others.
  10. Provided support and board representatives for community efforts to create a Perry Cultural District and increased tourism in the Perry area.
  11. Completed construction of new Perry Industrial Park permanent sign on the south side of Highway 141 at the east entrance to Perry.
Present and Future Projects:
  1. Help local Perry Industries grow, expand, and bring additional jobs to Perry.
  2. Continue to work on and support the effort to bring a DMACC facility to Perry.
  3. Continue marketing plan of the Perry Industrial & Commercial Park lots.
  4. Help with and support Phase II of Perry Downtown Revitalization
  5. Complete Preparation of a tabloid saluting existing Perry Industries.
  6. Continue to work with the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and Iowa Area Development Group to bring new industry to Perry and support expansion of existing industries.
  7. Help market the Meadow Gold building and other existing vacant industrial buildings.
  8. Continue working with the City of Perry, the Perry Chamber of Commerce, and other interested groups to strengthen the tourism industry and local economy.
